Classes for Expectant Parents

Santa Rosa Birth Center holds classes for expectant parents throughout the month. We attract instructors from around the region, focusing on a wide range of informative topics such as nutrition in pregnancy,  prenatal and postnatal exercise, relaxation techniques, preparing a birth plan, stages of labor, and breastfeeding.

Childbirth Preparation

We have several excellent childbirth educators that hold their classes at the Santa Rosa Birth Center.  Our teachers are certified in Lamaze, Birthing from Within, Bradley Method, Sacred Pregnancy and much more.  Each instructor has a unique background and spin on preparing parents for labor and birth, and we would love to help you choose one. Please call our office to discuss our unique class offerings, or visit our class calendar for a schedule of events!

Infant Care

Specifically preparing families for early discharge, this class reviews what to expect when you bring your baby home. We will cover normal newborn feeding and sleeping patterns, soothing techniques, and practical tips such as swaddling and diapering. Time for hands-on practice included!

Breastfeeding Preparation

A great class for all expectant parents! We will discuss the basics of breastfeeding including how to tell if your baby is latched on well, if your baby is getting enough breast milk, and tips for the early days to establish successful breastfeeding. Support people welcome.
